It's been over 3 years since the last language poll, as far as I can tell. Since language skills change over time, and of course we're always getting new people in Support and people leaving, it's probably time for a new one. I'm so curious to see which icons win! There are some pretty great ones in there. I think it's going to be very close between a few.

My job decided to send my coworker Jessica and I on a BC/Alberta Self Drive Fam Trip to go meet contacts and check out campgrounds/resorts/lodges in BC and Alberta that we currently sell for our Canada West packages.

I'm getting really excited! We leave this coming Friday, May 16 at about 2:30pm, we get into Vancouver at about 6pm or so? The only thing I'm bummed about is that I won't get to see the Moonlight finale that night. :( Unless I can find out what station and what time it would be playing when I get there... hmm.. this may have to be a side project before I leave. If I can't watch it then I'll have to wait until I get back to catch up.

Also, I'll have to work some things out to be able to get some internet access in order to vote on the icons for moonlightrumble Challenge 2 and hopefully I'll be able to enter Challenge 3 since I get back on Saturday late in the evening and might make the Sunday deadline...

I think the very best thing is that I'm going to get paid to drive around Canada for week in a 20 foot motorhome with a coworker that I consider as a very good friend.

I have a feeling this week is going to fly by very quickly.

We'd like to remind you that the nomination process for LiveJournal Advisory Board user-representatives has begun. If you think you're fit for the job, now's the time to nominate yourself! After all, you're the only who can do it. In two weeks, on the 22nd, the voting process will begin; we'll remind you about it again here.

If you're interested in keeping up with the nominations, watch lj_election_en. We'll post the results and announce the winner by the end of the day on May 30th. The new user-representatives will be seated on June 1st. Further details can also be found in lj_2008.

Due to an overwhelming response he's added a second show for May 30. If my boss Heather flakes out on me from the tickets she claimed from my purchase my parents are going to have the most awesome Mother's/Father's Day gift ever!

Advisory Board Nominations Begin

This morning we are opening the nomination process for the user-representative positions on the LiveJournal Advisory Board. A full description of the process can be found here.

To get you started, here are the basic things you should know:

- You may only nominate yourself
- Each nominee will need 100 motions of support in order to be eligible to be a candidate
- We ask that you keep your comments on the nomination posts to "I support this nomination" or something to that effect; be kind to those who will need to count the "supports", please.
- Although the nominations and election poll will take place in lj_election_en, you do not need to watch the community in order to keep up with the election; we'll announce everything here as well.

Everyone here at LiveJournal is looking forward to this first-ever User-Representative election! We'd like to thank everyone who is participating. Some words from our current Advisory Board members:

So after watching 27 Dresses at my parents and getting a seriously bad migraine headache, I come home and find that morgaine22 has left me an awesome virtual gift.

And I do agree.. about everything.

"I don't remember which email address I used" is not the same as "I don't have access to the email address I used." The "well, if you don't have access to an authorized address, you're out of luck" answer is not appropriate for the former, because the first step is to determine whether that is the case. If someone doesn't know which addresses they used, point them to the Troubleshooting section of FAQ 17 for help figuring that out.

I did it again. And I still can't believe it. After such a long time I found the way back in my studio. And while I was playing with pixels, colors and brushes, I noticed how much I have missed it. Also if I'm a little from the exercise, it makes a damned lot of fun. I'm hopefully, to be able to do it much more the next time again.
